Safety of roadside dwellers: SC wants “vacant buildings to be utilized for the rehabilitation”

NRI admission to minority college: SC refers case back to high court

The Supreme Court on Thursday (February 8) dealing with the safety of roadside dwellers in the country suggested that various buildings which are lying vacant all over the country can be used for the dwellers.

The bench of Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta was informed by the counsel appearing for Union of India that 14 states have recognized the issue and working on it whereas 15 states are lagging behind.

The bench listed the matter after four weeks.
