The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra on Monday (April 9) allowed a petition related to the proposed film on Guru Nanak Dev.
In this, the petitioner was allowed to make the movie initially. However, later, he declined to do so.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had set up an eight-member sub-committee to review the proposed film Nanak Shah Fakir. On Saturday the SGPV had approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has asked him to stop the release of this movie.
SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has been quoted in the media as saying that objections had been raised on the content of the movie.
