With claims pouring in against defaulting company Golden Forests (India) Ltd the Supreme Court bench of Justices Kurian Joseph, Mohan M Shantanagoudar andNavin Sinha on Thursday (May 17) ordered the company to deposit Rs 721 crore before the court by July 3. The court also said that no further opportunity will be given to the company.
The appeal was filed by the Raiganj Consumer Forum.
The court also directed that a list of allottees/investors be filed before the court in a proper report.
The court will heard the case again on July 4.
The court had invited claims from the depositors/investors of Golden Forests (India) Ltd through an advertisement on October 25, 2004. The claims did not stop despite the expiry of the closing date being extended. Claims are coming in even now.
The liabilities are to be discharged by the sale of the properties of Golden Forests (India) Ltd.
