The Supreme Court bench of Justices R K Agrawal and Abhay Mohan Sapre on Monday (February 12) dealing with the disproportionate assets of former Himachal Pradesh (HP) Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife, Pratibha Singh granted four weeks to file the counter affidavit.
During the course of proceedings, Singh’s counsel Kapil Sibal asked time to file the counter affidavit.
On the petition of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the previous hearing, the Supreme Court had issued notice to Virbhadra Singh, Government of HP and others seeking a reply.
The CBI has challenged some points of the Delhi High Court’s March 31, 2017 order in the Supreme Court including that it had to get consent of the HP government before starting the investigation in the case.
