SC to hear TN contempt plea on April 9 against the Centre for its failure to set up CMB

The Supreme Court will hear contempt petition by Tamil Nadu Government on April 9 against the Centre for its failure to set up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB).

Earlier, the Centre had filed a plea demanding a clarification on the CMB saying that Cauvery Scheme and CMB are two different things.

The apex court had earlier given the Centre six-week time to frame a scheme to establish a CMB and a Cauvery water regulation committee to keep an eye on the distribution of the river water among Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry.
