The Supreme Court on Monday (July 2) sought reply from the Bihar government on the petition filed by gangster Mohammed Shahabuddin challenging his conviction under the Arms Act.

Shahabuddin had challenged the Patna High Court verdict. Shahabuddin is facing trial in over dozen of criminal cases. He was recently shifted to Tihar jail on a plea by Chandrakeshwar Prasad whose three sons were killed in two separate incidents.
