The National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) structure, especially on the judicial side, has been adrift. It is currently functioning under Justice Jawad Rahim, who is the Acting Chairperson.
The matter relating to appointment of a permanent chairperson of the NGT and other matters was mentioned before the Supreme Court on Tuesday (May 29).
The counsel submitted that the third person in seniority list has been appointed.
It was decided that as there was no urgency, the matter would be taken up in the second week after the vacation.
