SC to hear banks’ plea on preventing Vijay Mallya from going abroad, Wednesday

The Supreme Court will hear the plea moved by a consortium of PSU banks including State Bank of India, appealing to prevent Vijay Mallya from going abroad, on Wednesday.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi had appeared on behalf of the banks and mentioned the matter before the CJI who deferred it to tomorrow.

In another development on Monday, a Bengaluru court barred the liquor baron from withdrawing money till the matter is disposed off. The case will now be heard on March 28.

The Enforcement Directorate also registered a case of money laundering against Mallya after CBI complaint.
