The Supreme Court bench of Justices S A Bobde and L Nageswara Rao on Monday (May 14) issued contempt notice against a petitioner, who had alleged bribery and other serious allegations against the registry, court master of the Supreme Court.

The petitioner Biswa Nath Banik, had named the persons against whom he is having these allegations.

On Monday senior advocate Dushyant Dave appeared on behalf of the respondent and submitted that today he talked with the petitioner who appeared in person. But he doesn’t want to listen.

Justice Bobde said: “These kinds of allegations are very serious. We will issue a contempt notice against him, but Mr Dave you make him understand.”

Dave said: “I had a talk with him for 20 minutes.”

At that the petitioner said: “No your lordship, he only talked with me for 2 minutes.”

Dave said: “He has already filed a petition of this kind before the high court, where there was an order against the registry.

Justice Bobde said: “We are issuing a contempt notice against him, striking down all his allegations.” The judge also ordered examination of his mental health. The court also restrained him from appearing before any court. “Mr Dave, you make him understand by way of last opportunity,” said the judge.

The matter listed for tomorrow.
