Famed cricketer and a member of Indian cricket team Mohammed Shami has suffered the wrath of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), allegedly for domestic violence against his wife.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) operating the BCCI has decided to put on hold Shami’s contract in the wake of charges levelled against him by his wife.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has vented her ire on Facebook, saying that Shami engaged in extra-marital affairs and even posted some pictures of Shami as “evidence” to support her allegations.

Jahan also alleged that she has been tortured for two years by Shami’s family members, so much so that they even tried to kill her.

Media reports suggested that Jahan is mulling legal action against Shami and his family members. However, Kolkata Police has not received any complaints yet.

Shami has rubbished the claims of Jahan by saying on Twitter that whatever is being said about his personal life was false and an attempt to defame him as a part of conspiracy.
