Trimbakeshwar temple: Plea to include 2 women on trustee board

The apex court on Tuesday (June 12) agreed to hear the plea seeking enhancement in the number of trustees which manage the Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik as well as the maintenance of temple. The plea has also asked for the inclusion of two women.

The court will hear the petition on June 18.

In the PIL, it has been prayed that the number of trustees of the temple should be increased from 9 to 11. Also, two seats should be reserved for women. The participation of the general public should also be increased.

At present, the number of trustees is 9 in which the civil judge presides over the trustees and the responsibility of taking care of the temple solely lies on the shoulders of him or her.

It has also been said in the plea that the collector should replace civil judge.
