Unnao rape case: Allahabad HC not happy with progress made by CBI

As the Allahabad High Court began its hearing of the Unnao rape case on Wednesday (May 2) in which BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar is the prime accused – with his brother Atul, accused of having killed the victim’s father inside police custody also in police custody – the mother of the rape victim case filed a petition, saying Pintu Singh, who filed a fake FIR in the Arms Act against the deceased’s father, was missing.

Meanwhile, the CBI today submitted to the court its progress report in a sealed envelope. The court had given the CBI the order on April 13, asking the investigating agency to file its report by today 10am.

The court is not happy with the slow movement of the CBI.

The order had also said that bail (or anticipatory bail) of people out on bail had to be cancelled.

The CBI has also asked for the case to be transferred to under the POSCO Act. The court said the statement of the victims and relatives.

The court said the matter to be listed on May 3.
