Unnao rape case: CBI submits progress report

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday (May 30) submitted its progress report on the infamous Unnao rape case to the Allahabad High Court bench of Chief Justice DB Bhosale and Justice Suneet Kumar.

Meanwhile, the state government has issued a letter to the transfer the POCSO Act case to the CBI court in Unnao.

In court today main accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar demanded that he should also get a chance to elaborate his side of the story. He said that there was no death in custody.

The bench, however, refused to interfere. There was a demand to determine the age of the victim – aho has been termed a minor – but the court said it cannot interfere in this matter.

The next hearing is on July 20.
