The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by deceased actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s mother against the anticipatory bail granted to pratyusha’s boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh by Mumbai High Court. The hearing on the plea is scheduled for May 30th.

Pratyusha’s parents on May 14 reached the Apex court against the grant of bail. In their petition challenging the High court’s decision, they filed that Rahul may manipulate the evidence if he is granted bail. The High Court had on April 25 granted anticipatory bail to Rahul who has denied the allegations charged against him.
In their allegations they also said that it was not a case of suicide, but Rahul along with his friend had murdered her, as there were marks of physical violence found on her body. She also accused police of favouring the accused.
On April 1 this year, Pratyusha, famous for her character Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her flat in suburban Goregaon.
