The Allahabad High Court has directed the Chandauli District Magistrate to present the activity report for the extraction of waterlogging in the Chak‐road of Digghi village, Post Basila, Mughal Sarai tehsil.
The order was passed by a division bench of Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Piyush Aggarwal on a Public Interest Litigation filed by Shamsuddin and 8 other residents of the same village.
The petitioner says that due to waterlogging in Chak‐road, the villagers are facing a lot of trouble. The ADM ordered the pipeline to be laid at plot 176 Chak‐road. No action was taken even after 6 months.

The Court said that since June 2019, the local administration has been listening to them. The administration, which is responsible, is not taking any action. On this, the Court has directed the District Magistrate to act on the demand of the people and present the report.
The petition will be heard on 18 January.
