Many AICTE-approved private engineering colleges in and around Allahabad have raised their fees for B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA courses, despite the government reducing fees.
The petition against this was filed by the Technical Education Department and was heard on June 29 by Justice PKS Baghel at the Allahabad High Court.
The High Court asked the state government to respond to the petition in two weeks.
The court said that if the engineering colleges lose their case then the increased fees will be charged at the rate of 6 percent to the students.
