The Allahabad High Court has directed the SSP of Prayagraj to take a decision on a petition filed by a woman seeking protection of her life from her father and her brothers.
The Division Bench of Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Vikram D. Chauhan passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Uma Bharti. The petition has been filed with a prayer that the Superintendent of Police, Prayagraj, be directed to provide protection to the petitioner from the family members of the petitioner.
“In this regard, petitioner may move an application before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Prayagraj, who shall consider the application on its own merit and see if the petitioner has to be provided any protection or not”

Accordingly, the Court disposed of the petition. The petitioner said that in 2016, the family got her married against her will. The husband used to drink and beat her and used to abuse her badly. In 2017, the husband got married for the second time. So the petitioner is preparing for the competition to make her future while residing in Colonelganj in Prayagraj. Her father and brother are harassing her mentally and physically. They are threatening and forcibly want to get his second marriage done.
