The Centre has cleared the appointments of four new judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, taking the strength up to 19, against the sanctioned strength of 37 judges in the state.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended in July 2019 the elevation of four advocates as judges who have been appointed by notification dated January 10, 2020. They are:
- Rao Raghunandan,
- Battu Devanand,
- Donadi Ramesh, and
- Ninala Jayasurya.
Recommendations for the Telangana High Court, in the same collegium resolution, was cleared by the Centre in August 2019 itself.
