New Delhi (ILNS): An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan today sentenced Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief and Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed to 10 years in jail in two more terror cases.
Hafiz Saeed, the founder and leader of the Islamist terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is also known as a “global terrorist” both by the United Nations and the US. Saeed is wanted in India for orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai terror attack which claimed the lives of 166 innocent people and injured hundreds more.
He is lodged at Lahore’s high-security Kot Lakhpat jail.
This is not the first time that the JUD chief is sentenced in a terror case by a Pakistani court. In July last year Saeed was arrested in connection with terror-financing cases after international pressure mounted on Pakistan to come clean.
