The government of Himachal Pradesh has appointed Anup Kumar Rattan as the new Advocate General for the State.
Anup Kumar Rattan will be replacing Ashok Sharma, who served as AG from December 2017 to this month.
A’The Department for Home,Government of Himachal Pradesh has issued a notification to this effect.
As per the notification, the terms and conditions of Rattan’s appointment will be issued separately.
The notification reads that in exercise of powers vested in him under Article 165 (1) of the Constitution of India, the Government of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to appoint Shri Anup Kumar Rattan, Advocate, as Advocate General, Himachal Pradesh, with immediate effect.
It also added that the terms and conditions of the post of Advocate General will be issued separately.
The going to be Advocate General Rattan completed law from Himachal Pradesh University in the late 90s. He was a legal correspondent for Hindustan Times in Shimla from 2004-2014. He served as Additional Advocate General from 2012-17.
