Senior Advocate Arvind Datar became the third Indian Advocate to join the Fountain Court Chambers as a door tenant.
Before Datar, Senior Advocates Gaurav Pachnanda and Zal Andhyarujina
had joined the esteemed Chambers as door tenant.
Pachnanda and Andhyarujina joined as door tenants in 2016 and 2021, respectively.
Called to the Bar in 1980, Datar is an eminent Senior Advocate in India, whose practice focuses primarily on constitutional, commercial, tax and regulatory law. He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, including as Amicus Curaie. Datar was appointed Senior Advocate by the Madras High Court in 2000.
Datar has authored a number of leading texts on topics including Datar on The Constitution of India, the Guide to Central Excise – Law & Practice and The Courtroom Genius. He is also the Chief Editor of Kanga & Palkhivala’s Law and Practice of Income Tax and has been the Chief Editor of Ramaiya’s Guide to Companies Act.
