New Delhi: CBI Special Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav today set September 30 as the date of verdict in the long drawn, contentious Babri Masjid demolition case. This case is about criminal conspiracy.
The actual case was split into two parts, with the land dispute issue having already been settled by the Supreme Court. This is a criminal case, involving criminal conspiracy.
The main accused in these were former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former Union minister Murli Manohar Joshi, former Union minister Uma Bharti, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh are among the overall 32 accused.

All hearings were completed by the court earlier this month, with top leaders ‘appearing’ before the court through video conferencing. All statements were recorded.
