Bombay High Court promotes 20 lawyers as Senior Advocates

The High Court of Bombay has notified 20 lawyers to be promoted as Senior Advocates.

A full court meeting held under the chairmanship of Acting Chief Justice S.V. Gangapurwala on February 16 cleared names of 20 Advocates, including two women, for promotion as Senior Advocates.

The meeting decided that in exercise of the High Court’s powers under Section 16 (2) of the Advocates Act, 1961, the High Court of Bombay has designated 20 lawyers as Senior Advocates. 

These are Abhay S. Khandeparkar, Ashish S. Kamat, Gopal Krishna Shivram Hegde, Rajshekhar V. Govilkar, Girish S. Godbole, Kiran S. Bapat, Vaibhav V. Joglekar, Suresh S. Pakale, Girish Anant Kulkarni, Lata Sudhir Desai, Shaikh Arshad Rauf Mubeen Ahmed, Sanjeeva B. Deshpande, Hormaz C. Daruwalla, Umesh R. Shetty, Firdosh P. Pooniwalla, Prateek Suresh Seksaria, Chetan Shantilal Kapadia, Narendra V Bandiwadekar, Zubin Soli Behramkamdin and Kiran Bhagalia (Kelkar).

The full court meet noted that though the notification conferring the gown was published on February 17, but would come into force with effect from February 16.
