The High Court of Calcutta has issued a notice stating that the normal functioning of all Courts in the State will remain suspended till June 8.
Meanwhile urgent matters will be taken on different dates during such period through the mode of Video Conferencing. The Court has however clarified that restoration of normal functioning of Court is being taken into consideration by the High Court.
The Court has further directed all the members of Officers and Staff of High Court, Calcutta to keep themselves prepared to join office forthwith, as and when they will be asked to do so. Further, In the event of non-availability of transport for to and fro journey in respect of official duties, till the public transport system is regularized, High Court Authority will provide transport service from certain points that will cater the commutation facility pertaining to such employees.
Further for administrative convenience, the services of the officers and staff booked for duty on any given day may be utilized by the High Court even beyond their present place of posting.
The High Court has directed all the Officers and Staff to keep contact with the respective departmental heads, and to consult the official website of the High Court, so as to remain updated about the developments in this regard.
