The CBI on Monday (May 22) objected to the acquittal of Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanithi Maran and others in the Aircel-Maxis case in the Delhi High Court. The court thereafter asked all of them to respond to the CBI’s plea on August 29.
A special court had in February had dropped all charges against them. It had observed that no case could be framed based on the evidence presented before it. They were held not guilty and discharged.
