The Counsel for the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has agreed that no precipitate action will be taken against WhatsApp of Facebook before the hearing of the case against a notice from the CCI. The Delhi High Court bench of Justices Anup Jairam Bhambhani and Jasmeet Singh has not passed any order in this regard in open court. The order will be uploaded shortly.
The issue of the harfing – it is a WhatsApp and Facebook plea – is about WhatsApp’s contentious privacy policy that the government of India is against.
Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Facebook, argued that the matter is sub-judice and is listed on July 9 before the Chief Justice. He submitted that no coercive action should be taken against them before the matter is heard.

Additional Solicitor General Aman Lekhi, appearing for the CCI, having received instructions said that no precipitate action will be taken against them till the July 9. The court decided against dictating the order in open court. The order will be uploaded shortly.
