The appointment of ten additional judges of the Allahabad High Court as permanent judges of that court has been notified by the Central government on Friday.
A tweet on the same was posted by the Law Minister Kiren Rijiju.
The ten judges who have been made permanent are:
– Justice Chandra Kumar Rai;
– Justice Krishan Pahal;
– Justice Sameer Jain;
– Justice Ashutosh Srivastava;
– Justice Subhash Vidyarthi;
– Justice Brij Raj Singh;
– Justice Shree Prakash Singh;
– Justice Vikas Budhwar;
– Justice Om Prakash Tripathi;
– Justice Vikram D Chauhan.
The appointment was made after the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the same on February 15, 2023.
The Allahabad High Court Collegium had on November 23, 2022 recommended the above judges for appointment as permanent judges.
As on March 1, 2023, the Allahabad High Court is functioning with a strength of 100 as against its sanctioned strength of 160
