Centre notifies appointment of 11 Advocates as Additional Judges at Punjab and Haryana High Court

The Union Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of 11 lawyers as Additional Judges to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The information was given on a notification published on the website of Department of Law and Justice on Sunday.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended names of 11 lawyers for appointment as Additional Judges on July 25, 2022.

The Advocates include:

– Nidhi Gupta;

– Sanjay Vashisth;

– Tribhuvan Dahiya;

– Namit Kumar;

– Harkesh Manuja;

– Aman Chaudhary;

– Naresh Singh;

– Harsh Bunger;

– Jagmohan Bansal;

– Deepak Manchanda; and

– Alok Jain.

The High Court of Punjab and Haryana has a sanctioned strength of 85 judges. As per the data on August 1, 2022, the High Court currently has a strength of 46 judges and vacancy of 39.
