The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of three judges to two High Courts and three additional judges to the Karnataka High Court.
Advocate Aditya Kumar Mohapatra has been appointed as a judge of the Orissa High Court while judicial officers Mohan Lal and Mohd Akram Chowdhary have been appointed to the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Aditya Kumar Mohapatra will be judge of Orissa High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of office. Judicial officers Mohan Lal and Mohd Akram Chowdhary are appointed in order of their seniority with effect from the date they assume charge of their offices.
In Karnataka High Court, three advocates Anant Ramanath Hegde, Siddaiah Rachaiah and Kannankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha have been appointed as Additional Judges. They have been appointed in their order of seniority for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge.
Earlier in a meeting on October 6, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the elevation of advocates Anant Ramanath Hegde, Siddaiah Rachaiah and Kannankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha as Judges of the Karnataka HC.
