The Centre on Thursday notified the appointment of Judges and Additional Judges to the Patna, Allahabad and Bombay High Courts, respectively.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, “In exercise of power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, President Ram Nath Kovind is pleased to appoint Sandeep Kumar, Purnendu Singh, Satyavrat Verma and Rajesh Kumar Verma to be Judges of the Patna High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”
The Supreme Court Collegium had made the recommendation for four Advocates to be the judges of the Patna High Court on September 23.
The Centre today also approved the Supreme Court Collegium recommendation and notified the appointment of Judicial Officer Om Prakash Tripathi as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office, till July 20, 2023. The Collegium had reconsidered its earlier recommendation on August 24, and had reiterated the name of Om Tripathi as an additional judge in the Allahabad High Court, along with two others.
The Union government also appointed two judicial officers – Anil Laxman Pansare and Sandipkumar Chandrabhan More as Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court, for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
