New Delhi (ILNS): After the Mumbai Police last month claimed that they had unearthed a TRP scam, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting yesterday decided to set up a four-member committee to study the different aspects of the Television Rating Points (TRP) system.
The committee will be headed by Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shashi S Vempati. The committee would revisit the Information and Broadcasting ministry’s existing guidelines and will recommend changes, wherever required. Other members of the committee will be IIT Kanpur Statistics Professor Dr Shalabh, Centre for Development of Telematics Executive Director Rajkumar Upadhyay and IIM Bangalore’s Decision Sciences professor at the Centre for Public Policy, Pulak Ghosh.
