Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud on Monday directed the Supreme Court Registry to upgrade or renovate the cafeteria, canteen, consultation room, arbitration room and medical facilities available with the Apex Court.
The CJI, along with the Secretary General, the Admin General and members of Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) inspected the cafeteria, Library no 1, erstwhile Judges Library, Old Chamber Blocks, Dispensary, Setalvad and Daphtary Chamber Block.
The SCBA EC members, who visited the Supreme Court areas with the CJI, included Rohit Pandey, Secretary; Meenesh Dubey, Joint Secretary;Yugandhara Pawar Jha, Treasurer; Vibhu Shankar Mishra; Kumar Gaurav and Chanchal Kumar Ganguli.
During the visit, the CJI was apprised about the pedestrian way required from Daphtary Block to Gate C of the Supreme Court.
He was further informed about the requirement of a way from ground floor to basement in the Daphtary Block.
Request was also made for the upkeep and beautification of areas outside the Setalvad Block and the Daphtary Block.
The Chief Justice agreed to improve/renovate all these areas and directed the personnel of the Registry to do the needful at the earliest.
