New Delhi (ILNS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that his government will now allow a 5 percent horizontal reservation in Group B posts for ex-servicemen in government jobs. He said for this, changes will be made in the section of the UP Public Service Act-1993.
The Chief Minister’s Office tweeted today that Adityanath has given permission. The permission has been granted for the amendment of section (1) clause (a-a) of the Public Service Act-1993.
Since the year 1999, there has been a provision of five percent horizontal reservation for the posts of Group C and Group D in government jobs, but this facility was not available for Group B posts. Now the Department of Personnel and Training will draft a change in the Act to implement it on Group B posts as well. It will be passed by the cabinet.
