Contest: Article writing competition on the first death anniversary of advocate Lily Thomas

The law offices of Lily Thomas and Saju Jakob have called for entries for the first article writing competition on the topic, Preamble to the Constitution, on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Advocate Lily Thomas, who died on December 10, 2019.

In a statement, the organisers said the competition aims to promote lawyers as the inventors for social transformation, which always requires a shift in collective consciousness of society and hence new inventions in the field of law through lawyers. The writing competition is open for all law students, advocates, legal practitioners, legal professionals, and academicians.
The participants are required to not only look into the past events/precedents, but also the current scenarios and the future prospects of change, to get the law of the land in consonance with the constitutional values and morality, as in the words of Jawaharlal Nehru, “The Preamble is not a law, but is something that breathes life in human minds.” The article must not only be in consonance with the topic, but also must justify the theme of the competition which is to be innovative and transformative.
