Delhi High Court Chief Justice D.N. Patel today indicated that the Court is all set to start physical hearing soon while hearing several matters. Adjourning a plea, Chief Justice Patel told the applicant that they were going to hear it in physical mode. “We are going to start physical hearing soon,” CJ Patel said.
During another hearing, the Chief Justice indicated that there might be three divisional benches, two single benches on the civil side and many more.
This has come a day after the Bar Council of Delhi held a joint meeting of Co-ordination Committee of All Bar Associations including DHCBA to press upon the Delhi High Court to resume physical hearing in all Courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies with effect from January 18.
In another hearing, the bench listed the matter for physical hearing, to which one of the counsels said, “The committee should consider keeping arrangements for both physical and virtual together,” the Chief Justice, on a lighter note, said “On vacations, we’ll do virtual.”
However, there is no official confirmation over the dates, the Chief Justice during the court hearing today stated that we are going to go ahead with the physical hearings and listed the matters for physical hearing on February 12 and 19. It seems as if the date of commencing physical hearing will not be later than February 12 or 19.
