The Delhi High Court on Friday has sought a response from NIA on a plea filed by human rights activist Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima Koregaon Violence Case.
A division bench headed by Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani of Delhi High Court while conducting hearing through video conferencing directed NIA to reply by Tuesday next week.
The interim bail application filed by Gautam Navlakha sought interim bail on the ground of him being at a higher risk of being affected by the COVID-19 in jail.
Counsel appearing for Navlakha submitted before the court that he has pre-existing underlying medical conditions and further is unable to practice or ensure sufficient social distancing and take necessary precautions.
The matter pertains to the case in which an FIR has been registered against Navlakha by Pune police, in which he is alleged to be involved in inciting violence at Bhima-Koregaon, be quashed.
The matter is listed for 27th May 2020.
