Taking in view the increasing number of Covid-19 cases across the country, especially in Delhi, the High Court of Delhi has made it mandatory for everyone entering the court premises to wear mask and follow all Covid-related protocols.
Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma said on Thursday that in order to combat the spread of Novel Coronavirus pandemic, all the concerned, including the staff working in this Court, members of the Bar, including their staff and the litigants were directed to make use of face mask at all times in the premises of this Court as a matter of caution.
The Chief Justice further told them not to gather in large numbers at common areas and waiting areas of court blocks as far as possible and follow appropriate Covid protocols in letter and spirit to avoid any further spread of the virus.
He requested all the Registrars/OSDs/Co-ordinator, DIAC/Joint Registrars (Judicial)/ Private Secretaries to the Chief Justice and Judges to ensure that the directions issued from time to time to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus were strictly followed by the officers and officials under their control.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had directed everyone entering the Court premises to wear mask and follow Covid-related protocols.
A circular issued on April 10 said that in view of reported increase in Covid-19 cases in Delhi, the Competent Authority has directed to observe preventive measures, such as wearing of masks, frequent use of hand sanitizers and maintaining of physical distancing norms in the Supreme Court.
