New Delhi (ILNS): The Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi Government and the Central Government to file their responses on the supplementary affidavit seeking distribution of dry ration to Non-PDS people.
A divisional bench comprising Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad noted: “Our main concern is night shelter.”
The application has been filed by an NGO, Delhi Rozi-Roti Adhikar Abhiyan, seeking directions to resume the scheme of providing dry ration under the Mukhya Mantri Corona Sahayta Yojna or any other Scheme, to continue accepting E-coupon applications, to continue operating kiosks/helpdesks for facilitating the applicants for receiving the benefit of dry ration and to ensure the resumption of hunger relief centers for providing hot cooked meals.
Senior Advocate Sanjay Parikh appearing for the petitioner submitted:
“We have pointed out that most of the people are deprived of basic facilities. Dry ration cannot be distributed as Migrant workers are gone.”
He further added that the Non-PDS people living in Delhi are deprived and “I’m confined to the distribution of ration to Non-PDS people.”
