New Delhi: The Delhi Police special cell has arrested city-based freelance journalist Rajeev Sharma under the Official Secrets Act (OSA). Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav has been quoted as saying:
The Delhi Police has maintained that a Chinese woman and her Nepalese associate have also been arrested for allegedly paying him large amounts of money routed through shell companies.
Rajeev Sharma, who is a resident of Pitampura in Delhi, had earlier worked with United News of India, The Tribune, and Sakaal Times. Recently, he wrote an article for the Chinese newspaper Global Times. He was arrested on September 14.

Sharma was produced before a city court on September 15, after which he was sent to police custody for six days.
