Demolition Work of Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Begins

Preliminary work to demolish the shelter home in Muzaffarpur began on Thursday under the magistrate’s supervision.This was after the local municipal corporation had stated that the building will have to be brought down manually and not with machines. “It’ll have to be done manually, it’ll take time and we’ll begin this tomorrow.”. the commission had said yesterday

Over 30 girls who were inmates of the shelter home it were sexually abused according to an audit report by Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Main accused Brajesh Thakur is in jail in connection with the incident.

The demolition is being done after preparing a seizure list of items there and videographing the process.The corporation had on November 12 ordered complete demolition of the shelter home building on Sahu Road which was being run by Brajesh Thakur’s NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti.

Also, the CBI had informed the Supreme Court (SC) that a chargesheet in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual abuse case was ready but the agency was discussing whether to file a consolidated final report or have a separate one on each victim.
