District Consumer Redressal Forum of Mainpuri directs to attach property of District Magistrate office

The District Consumer Redressal Forum , Mainpuri has directed to attach the movable and immovable property of the District Magistrate’s office of the District.


On non-recovery of RC on the complaint of the woman, Chairman  Subhash Chandra Kulshrestha has ordered to attach the property.

The  whole matter is of Sahajadpur Usnidha of Aunchha police station area of Mainpuri. Pradeep Kumar had an accident in Bulandshahr on August 2018. He died during treatment at Arnia Hospital. Pradeep’s wife Dimple Devi filed a petition in the court for not getting farmer insurance. 

Pradeep used to do farming. Dimple had applied to get compensation under Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme. Due to the negligence of the then Lekhpal Prempal, she did not get compensation. On this, Dimple Devi had filed a petition in the District Consumer Forum against the then Lekhpal Prempal and DM.

After hearing the petition, the chairman of the forum SC Kulshrestha and the then member Rajesh Yadav ordered the DM to pay a compensation of five lakh rupees. An interest of 7% per annum was also to be paid on this amount.On non-payment of compensation, the Forum issued an RC and ordered for recovery.

Recovery was not made from Collector  for 4 years. Dimple Devi, through her lawyer Mahendra Kumar Mishra, gave an application in the forum and demanded recovery. On this, Chairman SC Kulshrestha and member Deepika Das, after hearing, ordered to attach the movable and immovable property of the DM office. For attachment of the property, advocate Dinesh Chandra Saxena was appointed as Advocate Commissioner and also paid him a fee of Rs 2 thousand.

According to the Advocate Mahendra Kumar Mishra , under Section 71 of the  Consumer Protection , the Chairman  has the right to attach the movable and immovable property of the District Magistrate. For the first time in the history of Mainpuri district, a notice was issued to attach the property of the District Magistrate’s office.
Recovery Commissioner Senior Advocate Dinesh Chandra Saxena said  that the movable and immovable property of the District Magistrate’s office will be attached in one month . They have served the  copy of the order at the District Magistrate’s office. 

The next hearing of the matter  will be on 11 May 2023.
