Sahitya Akademi Award winning poet Goreti Venkanna called on Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana at his official residence in New Delhi on Friday.
A nominated Member of the Telangana Legislative Council, Venkanna is in New Delhi to receive the award and was felicitated by CJI Ramana with a bouquet, a shawl and a memento.
CJI Ramana congratulated him on bringing laurels to Telugu people and Telangana. At CJI’s request, Venkanna recited two poems titled Vallanki Taalam and Shivudaa from his award winning work Vallanki Taalam. CJI Ramana complimented Venkanna for reflecting the relationship of nature and humans in his writings and the way he emphasised on the need for sustain the harmonious relationship between all components of nature. Venkanna then presented a copy of Vallanki Taalam to CJI Ramana.
