The Gujarat High Court has cancelled its summer vacation and decided to continue the present system of hearing fresh and urgent matters through video conferencing in the wake of coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Registrar General of Gujarat High Court has mentioned in a notification issued on April 30, that in view of request by President of Gujarat High Court Advocates Association and prevailing crisis of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the High Court has decided that the summer vacation beginning from 11th May to 7th June 2020 be cancelled.
The present dispensation of fresh matters is to be continued. Presently, one Division Bench and as many number of Single Benches are required, depending upon the workload, are sitting through video conferencing to deal with urgent matters filed in soft form.
Therefore, it was decided that arrangement be continued till further orders and situation be periodically as and when need arises.
The Summer vacations of the High Court of Gujarat for the year 2020, as already notified vide High Courts Notification dated, 28.11.2019 and 13.03.2020 stands cancelled accordingly, said the notification.
