The Himachal Pradesh High Court Judge, Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and his wife Dr. Mukta Sharma has donated an amount of Rs 2,51,000 to the PM Cares Fund. The donation has been made by Justice Thakur and his family members including his father former MLA, Mr. Narayan Singh Swami, into the PM Cares Fund and the Himachal Pradesh Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
According to Justice Thakur, The Country and the society fulfils all the requirements throughout the life and a person’s dreams are realised through them only. Therefore its a duty to give back some of what has been taken from them throughout our lives, and strengthen the Nation at such times of crisis.
The Governor Bandaru Dattatraya was presented with the cheques of amount Rs 2,51,000 by Justice Thakur and Dr. Mukta Sharma, in presence of the Secretary to Governor Mr. Rakesh Kanwar.
The donation made by Justice Thakur is One lakh rupees towards the PM Cares Fund, and Rs 50,000 towards Himachal Pradesh Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, whereas Dr. Mukta Sharma has contributed Rs 40,000 towards Himachal Pradesh Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Mr. Narayan Singh has contributed Rs 11,000 from his own savings towards PM Cares Fund and Rs. 50,000 towards ‘HP Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund’.
This donation has been made in addition to the contribution made by the Himachal Pradesh High Court Judges by contributing their two days salary towards the funds to combat COVID-19. The High Court of Jharkhand contributed Rs 25,000 by way of donation to the Prime Minister Citizens Assistance Relief. The Supreme Court Judges also donated Rs 50,000 each to the PM-CARES fund.
