The Centre has notified the appointment of Justice Ravi Vijaykumar Malimath as the acting Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court from July 28, who will subsequently be confirmed as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court by the Supreme Court collegium which is suppose to meet in the next week.
Justice Malimath, the senior most judge of the Uttarakhand High Court will perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court after the retirement of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on July 27.
According to the information uploaded on Uttarakhand High Court website, Justice Ravi Malimath Born on 25-05-1962. He was Enrolled as an Advocate in January 1987 at Bengaluru and he Practiced in Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Labour, Service, Mainly at Karnataka High Court.
He was Appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka in February 2008 and permanent Judge in February 2010.
Justice Malimath, Transferred to High Court of Uttarakhand and assumed office of a Judge of High Court of Uttarakhand on 05-03-2020 vide Notification No. K-13023/01/2020-US.I, Dated 26-02-2020.
