Kamlesh Tiwari murder: SC issues notice to UP govt on plea seeking transfer of case

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to Uttar Pradesh government on a plea seeking transfer of the case of murder of Hindu leader Kamlesh Tiwari from Lucknow to Delhi.

The notice was issued by a Bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde.

Tiwari, leader of Hindu Samaj Party, was shot dead by two persons inside his residence-cum-office in Khurshid Bagh in Lucknow on October 18 last year.

The Uttar Pradesh Police had filed charge sheet against 13 accused in connection with the murder.

Tiwari hailed from Sitapur. He contested the 2012 assembly election from central Lucknow on the ticket of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha but was defeated.
