The High Court of Karnataka has constituted Benches to hear extremely urgent matters from May 18th 2020. The Benches have been constituted for the week commencing from May 18th for urgent matters of the Principal Bench and the Benches at Dharwad and Kalaburagi.
These Benches will hear the matters that were filed during the closure period of the High Courts and also the final hearing matters for which consent has been given by Advocates for the parties for hearing through Video conferencing.
The following Benches have been constituted for May 18th:
- A division Bench of Chief Justice and Justice Nagarathna has been constituted to hear the PILs, writ appeals and Green Bench matters.
- Single judge Benches of Justice Ashok Kinagi, Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum, have been constituted to hear the civil and criminal matters.
- A division Bench of Justice Nagarathna and Justice Uma M.G has been constituted to hear all civil and criminal matters of division Bench.
Similar Benches have been constituted for the rest of the week.
In addition, Special Division Benches have been constituted which will be sitting to hear the special matters:
- A division Bench of Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum has been constituted to take up the specially assigned Criminal Appeals.
- A Division Bench of Justice M. Nagaprasanna and Justice Alok Aradhe has been constituted to take up specially assigned Tax matters.
