The Delhi High Court has asked Jaiveer Singh Chauhan, Secretary, Tis Hazari Bar Association to be present on the next date of hearing in the manhandling case of a woman lawyer, Afshan Pracha who practiced at Tis Hazari.

The court also directed to provide all the necessary documents pertaining to the case to the GNCTD counsel, Rahul Mehra.

Pracha had filed a complaint in the apex court saying that women should be allowed to work without violence in courts and Tis Hazari doesn’t have a sexual harassment redressal committee after she was abused, groped and dragged by male lawyers from the Tis Hazari Bar Association.

Acting upon the complaint, the apex court had directed the Chief Justices of all the high courts to constitute committees within two months to tackle the complaints of sexual harassment in all district courts in pursuance to the guidelines mandated in the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act of 2013.

The matter has been listed for next hearing to August 24, 2018.
