Supreme Court adjourns hearing plea challenging Delhi HC’s judgment in defamation case filed by Manish Sisodia

Senior counsel R. Venkatramani who appeared for Member of Parliament Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Vijender Gupta objected to the application filed by Manish Sisodia for Vacating stay.

The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a plea filed by BJP leader Manoj Kumar Tiwari challenging the Delhi High court judgment which refused to quash the summoning order issued by the magistrate in a defamation case filed by Delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. 

The Division Bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice V.Ramasubramanian heard the plea and adjourned the matter and listed it for further hearing on 25th August 2021.

Dr. AM Singhvi appeared for AAP leader Manish Sisodia. Senior counsel R. Venkatramani who appeared for Member of Parliament Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Vijender Gupta objected to the application filed by Manish Sisodia for Vacating stay.

The notice was issued on 27th January 2021 by granting an interim stay of the operation of the summoning order passed by ACMM-I, Rouse Avenue Court Complex, New Delhi.
