National Judicial Conference in Gujarat to be inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind today

The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the National Judicial Conference, a two-day event that has been organised by the Gujarat High Court, at Tent City near the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Gujarat’s Narmada district on April 9, as per the official report.

The aim of this conference is for the “Top legal luminaries will deliberate over issues of mediation for easing backlog of cases and using information technology in the justice delivery system

The inauguration of the conference will be done by the President of India Ramnath Kovind and shall be attended by the India’s top judicial officers in the presence of Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Justice of India Justice N V Ramana, Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Justice Aravind Kumar and other judges of the Gujarat HC, said Registrar General of Gujarat High Court R K Desai in a statement.

The conference shall be attended by the dignitaries and luminaries from the field of law and Governance. The Chief Minister of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, The Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will be part of the conference along with the  Supreme Court judges Justice L Nageswara Rao, Justice S Abdul Nazeer, Justice M R Shah, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Bela M Trivedi.

Registrar General of Gujarat High Court R K Desai in a statement said Chief Justices as well as senior-most judges along with the registrars of various high courts would attend the conference.

On the first day that is 9th of April there would be three sessions on the subject of Mediation whereas April 10, will witness two great sessions on the subject of Information Technology.

 The gathering shall be addressed by the Justice D Y Chandrachud of the Supreme Court through video conferencing on the subject ‘Future of Justice-Technology and Judiciary’, he added.

Mediation sessions would be quite enriching as they would cover the aspects relating to court annexed mediation .It would also focus on the commercial mediation, and its benefits to the stakeholders.

An interesting session shall also be conducted on the process and benefits of pre litigation mediation and the online mode of mediation would also be deliberated.
